I would like to strike a balance between the work I do to support myself and those around me and the work I do for those that need it because they are otherwise unable to access it.
In short:
I pet/house sit at your place while you are away and you yourself, considering your own income and spending goals, can offer me what you can in terms of daily compensation.
While sitting cats, rodents or birds I would spend most of my time grooming them, cleaning their ears and fur, nail clipping, exchanging their litter, food and water, petting them, building them games to challenge them, caves to hide in and explore and if instructed, for their own entertainment, teaching them fun tricks or skills to improve their living conditions (like toilet training or climbing to explore new spaces) and simply being there for them. I won’t be training anyone to provide humans with entertainment though. I have experience with medicating cats but not with injections although I am willing to learn. Make sure to leave me your vet’s contacts.
Don’t shy away from a clear and direct presentation of your routine in the house and with the person I am supposed to care for along the lines of food/medication time, preferred grooming/petting times, dislikes and fears they might have, quirks and special needs, rooms not to go into, cleaning and maintenance habits that you would normally not mention to guests. As the internet is the main way I keep in touch with friends and family and a way for you to receive daily photos and updates I would also need Wifi access.
If you’re dealing with clinical depression or find it hard to cope with chores and are also on a low or no income I would gladly clean free of charge for or with you at the start of the pet/house sitting. And like with every sitting that I do, I will hand over a clean house when you return so please get in touch to reserve a sitting. If you still want to offer something, the things listed in the “What’s the money for?” paragraph are things I am always interested in offering my service directly for.
What’s the money for?
Some vegan food, some inner city public transport, savings for a functional travel laptop, for a Bauwagen (trailer), building materials and tools, transport costs of the trailer that can surpass the costs for it, small rent and electricity costs for the community I would live in, medical expenses savings and support for other vegan projects are some of the costs you will be contributing to.
